"Casey Cookies!" Inspired by Scream (1996)

Updated: Dec 2, 2020

In celebration of my queer horror podcast's debut episode drop, I got a surprise recipe for you! You're gonna love this one! It's a scream, baby!

"CASEY COOKIES!"

Drop cookies made with popcorn for a night in with your favorite scary movie, butter toffee bits for a snap as crisp as the dialogue, chocolate chunks for a little sinful indulgence, and last but not least, a little corn syrup for a center as gooey as Casey Becker's innards.

Bake Time: 12-14 minutes

Oven Temp: 350 degrees

Prep: 30 minutes

Yield: 2 ½ dozen

Movie: SCREAM

Ingredients:

1 1⁄4 cups of All Purpose Flour

1 cup of sugar

1 egg yolk (room temp)

1 pinch of salt

1⁄2 cup of softened butter

1 teaspoon of light corn syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup chocolate chunks

2 cups popcorn

1⁄2 cup of butter toffee bits

Instructions:

Using the Creaming Method for cookies, in a mixer or large bowl, mix together the butter and sugar until creamy and fluffy.

Beat in the egg, vanilla extract & corn syrup.

Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add into the creamed mixture.

Fold in the chocolate chunks, popcorn and butter toffee bits to your dough.

Grease your baking sheet and drop 1 tablespoon of cookies 2 inches apart.

Bake at 350° for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from baking sheet to cool.
